    Biography

     

    • Holds a Ph.D. degree in agricultural science from Louisiana State University - United States
    • Professor and lecturer at the American University in Beirut (starting 1968)
    • Served as vice president of Programs and Research at the American University in Beirut (1982-1997)
    • Vice-President and member of the board of directors of the National Council for Scientific Research (1992 - present)
    • Chaired the working group appointed by the American University of Beirut for the founding of the American University of Sharjah and the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and several universities in the Gulf region (1996-2000)
    • Special Advisor to the President of the American University of Beirut (1996 - present)
    • Member of the Board of Trustees for universities and several educational institutions including American University of Sharjah, University of Sharjah, Al Manar University and American Community School (1997 - to date)
    • Has several publications and training programs in the Middle East
    • Received the Medal of Merit in the field of education from the President of the Lebanese Republic
    • Special advisor on higher education to the Governor of Sharjah - United Arab Emirates (1998-2003)
    • Consultant and Vice President of the American University of Sharjah (1997-1998)
