Biography

A trustee since 2012, El-Hout is the chairman of the board of directors and the director general of Middle East Airlines. He is a current member of the Executive Committee of the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) and served previously as the president of its Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Governors of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Previously, he was the head of the real estate and financial assets department and an advisor to the Governor (crisis management) of the Central Bank of Lebanon. He had joined the Central Bank of Lebanon as an economist and was promoted to the rank of deputy director of statistics and economic studies. El-Hout holds a BA from the American University of Beirut (Economics, 1981) and an MBA from the American University of Beirut (1984). He received an honorary doctorate in Business Administration from Beirut Arab University in 2017. He holds several medals and awards.
