RHU announces its First High School Programming Contest winners

The Computer and Information Systems Department and the ACM Student Chapter at RHU’s College of Sciences and Information Systems launched the First Annual High School Programming Contest (HSPC’17) on Saturday January 21st, 2017. Out of the twenty six high school students who participated in the event, three students from Iman High School took the lead.

The first three winners were from Iman High School: Mahmoud Dafer (1st place), Mohammad Nasser (2nd place), and Taha Yassine (3rd place).

Coach Mohamed Abd El-Wahab (Head of Scientific Committee, ACM ACPC Arab Collegiate Programming Contest) and Ms. Hanaa El Jazzar (Deputy System Administrator in ACM ACPC) provided RHU valuable technical and scientific support on this contest.

Preparations for this day have started in November 2016. More than 40 high school students from five high schools in Beirut and South Lebanon were trained on computer programming by coaches from RHU ACM Student Chapter (CCE and CS students) to get ready for this big day.

RHU would like to thank all those who contributed to the success of the event!
