    Dr. Hagopian is a Doctor of Business Administration from Universite Jean Moulin Lyon III, IAE Lyon, France; a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA; and a Certified Documentary Credit Specialist Advocate (CDCSAdv) from the London Institute of Banking, UK endorsed by International Chamber of Commerce, UK. In addition, he holds his Master’s Degree in Finance from Haigazian University, Lebanon.

     

    Dr. Hagopian brings approximately 22 years of banking experience, most recently serving as the Head of the Trade Finance Department at a local bank. In addition, he has over 18 years of academic experience, during which he developed and delivered a wide range of courses in banking, finance, economics, and accounting at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His teaching approach incorporates contemporary methods such as field research, live case studies, and project presentations/defense. Some of the courses he has taught include Accounting Principles, Management Accounting, Strategic Cost Accounting, Financial Management Principles, Contemporary Corporate Finance, Financial Statement Analysis, and Banking Operations. Furthermore, Dr. Hagopian has also designed and taught preparatory courses for non-business graduate students entering Master’s programs, as well as basic accounting courses for non-accountants as part of lifelong education initiatives. He has also participated in numerous workshops and conferences as a speaker, trainer, and reviewer, focusing on trade finance and management accounting. Currently he is also a trainer of IMA’s CMA and FMAA candidates in their pursuit of CMA and FMAA designations for managerial and financial professionals. His research interests include management accounting, cost accounting, sustainability in finance and accounting, the integration of technology and artificial intelligence in accounting, data analytics in accounting and finance, corporate governance and financial reporting, fintech versus traditional finance, change management, organizational behavior, and action research.
