Dr. May ABDALLAH is a part-time lecturer at Rafik Hariri University, College of Arts and Sciences. She obtained a Ph.D. in applied mathematics in December 2023 from Laboratory of mathematics-EDST, Lebanese University-Lebanon, en-cotutelle with Institute Denis Poisson, University of Tours, France. Right after defending her thesis, she started teaching different courses in MATH at Rafik Hariri University-Lebanon (2024 till present). The courses taught cover a range of topics, including: Numerical Analysis, Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Calculus II, Calculus I, and College Algebra.
Her main research interests are in partial differential equations, in particular in well-posedness problems of dispersive and dispersive-dissipative models between the Korteweg-deVries and Benjamin-Ono equations. Her research also covers uniqueness, orbital and asymptotic stability of slow and fast solitary wave solutions to the Benjamin equation, as well as the long-time asymptotic behavior of N-Solitons of the Benjamin equation. Dr. ABDALLAH has publications in Springer Nature; Monatshefte für Mathematik, and Journal of Dynamics and Differential Equations, and another submitted article.
