Dr. Lina Hassoun is a scholar, interior architect, and visual artist whose work explores the intersection of design, art, and cultural reality.
Dr. Hassoun holds a PhD in Art & Sciences of Art from the Lebanese University. Her dissertation, “Artistic Reconstruction of a Reality – Lebanon 1970 to 2010 ”, provides a critical analysis of art as a means of interpreting national history and conflict. She has taught as a lecturer at several universities, including the American University of Beirut (AUB) in the Department of Fine Arts and Art History.
Alongside her academic career, Dr. Hassoun is an Interior Architect, holding a Master’s degree from the Lebanese University, and has contributed to numerous residential and commercial design projects.
As a practicing artist, her work often synthesizes conceptual photography and abstract forms, engaging with themes of memory and transition. Her art has been showcased in many prominent exhibitions, including the Beirut Art Fair, AUB Art Galleries, UNESCO, and the International Center for Transitional Justice. She won many awards, and was twice a finalist for the Byblos Bank Award for photography.
