Dr. Hana El Toqi is a lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Rafik Hariri University. She holds a Ph.D. in Management (Strategy and Competitiveness) from Università Carlo Cattaneo – LIUC (Italy).She also earned a Master of Science in Human Resources Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Accounting from the Lebanese American University.
Dr. El Toqi’s research focuses on the role of cluster organizations in driving economic, environmental, and social impact across regions and industries. Her work explores how clusters influence entrepreneurial dynamics, particularly startup formation and growth, as well as their role in promoting digital transformation and sustainability. A significant part of her research examines Italian textile clusters and the mechanisms through which cluster organizations act as orchestrators of digital and green transitions. She also investigates the social dimension of clusters, analyzing their contribution to social progress, collaboration, and regional development using frameworks such as the Social Progress Index.
Her research has been accepted for presentation at several international conferences, including the International Conference on Applied Research in Management, Economics and Accounting at Oxford Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and the European Regional Science Association (ERSA) annual conference. She has multiple completed research papers currently prepared for submission to peer-reviewed academic journals.
Dr. El Toqi has academic experience as a graduate assistant at the Lebanese American University and is teaching Entrepreneurship at Rafik Hariri University. Her research aims to contribute both to academic scholarship and to policy-relevant discussions by identifying best practices for enhancing the effectiveness of cluster-driven initiatives.
