    A Calligraphy workshop at RHU teaches Arabic writing, history and styles

    A Calligraphy Workshop by the College of Sciences and Information SystemsDesign Department and Design Society kicked off on Friday, November 23rd, 2018 at RHU. Renowned artist and calligrapher, Mr. Akeel Ahmad, delivered the first session of the workshop between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to a large group of RHU design instructors, students and alumni; in addition to other interested people who are working as designers and creative directors. The workshop will continue until Friday December 7, 2018.

     

    Mr. Akeel Ahmad taught the attendees about the history of Arabic writing and the various styles. He also introduced the rules for writing in Ruquaa style. All attendees enjoyed the extensive learning process of manual writing and benefited from learning new skills that will be developed furthermore in the upcoming sessions.
