Rafik Hariri University (RHU) proudly announces that its Computer Science (B.Sc.) program and all seven Engineering (B.E.) programs—Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering—have been reaccredited by ABET through September 30, 2031.
The reaccreditation was officially confirmed on August 29, 2025, in a letter from ABET President Sarah A. Rajala addressed to RHU President Dr. Said Ladki, following a comprehensive evaluation conducted during the 2024–2025 academic year. This recognition underscores RHU’s ongoing commitment to educational excellence and preparing graduates who meet the highest international standards in their fields.
In August 2019, the RHU bachelor’s degree programs in Civil, Electrical, Computer and Communications, Biomedical, Mechanical, and Mechatronics Engineering and the Computer Science Program were accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) and the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology ABET which is a global accreditor of college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology.
The university has received a maximum period of accreditation, the highest that ABET gives, of 6 years prospective and two years retrospective. ABET assures that the programs offered by the university meet standards to produce graduates who are ready to enter critical technical fields that are leading the way in innovation and emerging technologies and anticipating the welfare and safety needs of the public. RHU is particularly proud of the statement made by ABET that summarizes what RHU education stands for; “A highly supportive and positive, student-centered learning environment exists across all programs. Students take full advantage of access to caring professors, state-of-the-art facilities, and laboratories. This environment enhances the overall educational experience of students and prepares them to enter engineering practice.”
RHU College of Business Administration is the first in Lebanon to obtain ACBSP accreditation in all its programs. In December 2019, RHU College of Business Administration received international accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs ACBSP Global Business Accreditation for the next ten years.
The Council specializes in accrediting colleges and business administration programs globally based on the quality and excellence of learning and education. Thus, it will be the first university in Lebanon to obtain this accreditation for all eight business administration programs, namely: Accounting; Business Information Technology Management; Finance and Banking; Human Resources Management; Management; Marketing and Advertising; Master of Business Administration; and Master in Oil and Gas Management.
In September 2023, the RHU’s College of Business Administration passed the periodic Quality Assurance review of the well-known American business accrediting body, ACBSP Global Business Accreditation. The ACBSP Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners met on September 26, 2023, and voted to approve the CBA’s Quality Assurance report with no notes or conditions.
In his email to RHU, the ACBSP Director of Accreditation Dr. Lucie Depoo congratulated the College of Business Administration faculty members for this accomplishment, which reconfirms that the CBA’s model of higher education in business stands well within international standards and best practices.
