The RHU Software Engineering and Cybersecurity Club, the IEEE RHU Student Branch, and the IEEE WIE Lebanon kicked off the first session of the “Building IoT Networks Controlled Using Smartphone Applications” workshop series on November 20. This engaging session sets the stage for an inspiring workshop series that develops the next generation of IoT and cybersecurity leaders and marks an exciting step toward equipping students with future-focused technological skills.

Led by Eng. Rabih Yazbeck, CEO of RY-Tech Solutions, this session provided much more than just technical training. Students gained practical experience in creating straight-through UTP cables, configuring wireless routers and access points, and exploring key components of networking, IoT ecosystems, and cybersecurity fundamentals.

Through hands-on experience and real-world applications, participants boosted their confidence, deepened their understanding of intelligent systems, and increased their readiness to innovate in a rapidly changing digital world.
