New students’ academic orientation at RHU: Student Success is what matters most

RHU’s first ice-breaker academic orientation for the first batch of new students was held on July 17, 2018. Student advising and online course registration followed a comprehensive presentation of the academic rules and regulations delivered by RHU Registrar, Ms. Nidal Khalaf at 10:00 a.m. in RHU MEA Conference Hall.

Ms. Khalaf, began her presentation by saying: “You are here because you are qualified and by joining RHU you can rest assured your future is in good hands.” For what sets RHU apart from other institutions is the “quality education” and the culture of “caring” that is intrinsic in “what we say and do.” Because students’ success is what matters most at RHU, academic advising is not limited to course registration, it embraces all aspects of academic support, guidance and monitoring of the students’ academic progress pertinent to a timely and successful completion of academic requirements.

Following the presentation, new students attended a reception, collected academic catalogs, calendars, and bookmarks and then headed to meet their academic advisors, each in his respective college. They then registered their courses online on the RHU Student Information Systems RHUSIS in the Library. Mr. Wassim Mallah, Assistant Director of ERP Systems and Applications, and Ms. Nihal Hariri, Student record Assistant, were present to guide the students in the online registration process.

RHU Communication and Alumni Relations Office will be creating a Welcome RHU Class of 2021 platform on social media to allow new students to ask questions, interact with RHU and with one another, and receive information related to admissions, registration, events and activities, until they are well settled in their classes by the end of September.
