RHU, represented by President Makram Suidan, and Al-Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association of Beirut, represented by its President, Dr. Faisal Sinno, signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Partnership on March 6, 2019. The signing ceremony was hosted at Al Makassed Girls College in Al Bashoura at 3:00 p.m. Present at the event was Mrs. Salwa Siniora Baasiri, Director General of Rafik Hariri Foundation and Member of RHU Board of Trustees, and Mr. Hisham Jaroudi, President of Al Riyadi Club and member of Al Makassed Foundation, deans, academic and staff members and principals from both institutions.

RHU President, Dr. Makram Suidan, and the President of Al Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association of Beirut, Dr. Faisal Sinno, delivered valuable words on the occasion.

In his word, Dr. Makram Suidan thanked Al-Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association for their generous hosting and conveyed the greetings and good wishes of Mrs. Nazik Rafik Hariri, President of RHU Board of Trustees. He remunerated the many awards that RHU students and alumni have received in the past year and stressed RHU’s low faculty to student ratio which indirectly builds stronger ties between students and professors and guarantees that students get the attention and support needed to reach their highest potential. He indicated that this MOU provides a valuable package of scholarships and financial aids to Al Makssed students and that all of them are welcome to join RHU.

Dr. Faisal Sinno’s word depicted the importance of academic partnerships in providing students the access to higher education, while focusing on the main goal, that of developing a new generation capable of facing up to the various challenges locally and internationally.

The ceremony ended with a cocktail reception.
