RHU and the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Lebanon Section made a significant impact at the “Youth Empowered by AI” event held in Tyre, South Lebanon, organized by Together for Lebanon and sponsored by Dr. Inaya Ezzeddine.

Ms. Amal El Arid, RHU Lecturer and IEEE-WIE Lebanon Secretary, delivered a workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity”, engaging students and educators in real-world applications of AI and its transformative role in cybersecurity. She also participated in a cybersecurity panel discussion, covering topics such as types of hackers, ethical hacking, and the importance of awareness in today’s digital age.

RHU engineering students, Ms. Lynn Al Masri, Ms. Malak Al Madhoun, and Mr. Omar Al Halabi represented the IEEE Student Chapters at a vibrant booth, showcasing IEEE initiatives and encouraging student involvement in technology and research. The students actively participated in all six workshops and in the final challenge, where Mr. Omar Al Halabi won first place, reflecting both his excellence and RHU’s high academic standards.

The event served as a valuable platform to inspire youth and educators to embrace AI responsibly, creatively, and with critical thinking.
