RHU Biomedical Engineering research teams received two best paper awards in the 6th International Conference on Advances in Biomedical Engineering ICABME’21 at the Islamic University of Lebanon (IUL) on October 7-8, 2021. RHU Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department Chair, Professor Mohamad Diab, received the awards on behalf of the research teams.
The first research team includes Biomedical Engineering student Ms. Amar Shehimy (MS, BME) and the supervisors Dr. Ramzi Halabi and Dr. Mohamad O. Diab (RHU, Lebanon) and Dr. Mahmoud Hassan and Dr. Ahmad Mheich (Neurokyma, France). The research title is Comparing Healthy Subjects and Alzheimer Disease Patients using Brain Network Similarity: a Preliminary Study.
The second research team includes Ms. Yasmine Abou Adla (BE, BME), supervised by: Dr. Mohamad O. Diab and Dr. Jad Nasreddine (RHU, Lebanon). The research title is Automated Detection of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Using Machine Learning Techniques.
The awardees will soon have the chance to expand their papers and publish full articles in a peer-reviewed journal.
The RHU ECE Department is very proud of its student and faculty winners. The best paper awards are proof of RHU's excellence in education and research on both the national and international levels.
