RHU proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of computer and communication engineering alumna Professor Nazek El-Atab following KAUST's announcement of her promotion from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor in its Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Program.
Prof. El-Atab is also the Principal Investigator of the Smart, Advanced Memory Devices and Applications (SAMA) Lab, where she leads pioneering research at the intersection of applied physics, materials science, and device engineering.
Her research focuses on the design, fabrication, and integration of micro- and nano-engineered devices inspired by nature and the human brain. Through her multidisciplinary research team, she is advancing next-generation intelligent hardware capable of sensing, storing, and computing within a single platform, with applications in neuromorphic sensing, in-memory computing, healthcare technologies, and edge artificial intelligence.
This well-deserved promotion reflects Prof. El-Atab's exceptional contributions to engineering research and innovation and underscores her growing impact on the global scientific community.
