The RHU Design Department in the College of Sciences and Information Systems hosted Ms. Tessa Doniga Johnson, a renowned artist and founder of Fragmento Universo design firm in Madrid, Spain, for a workshop entitled: “Food Play – Artistic Photography”.
The workshop was held on March 22 and 23, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It attracted RHU design instructors, students and alumni, in addition to other students and professionals in the design and creative industries.

On the first day of the workshop, Ms. Tessa explained in details her methodology of photography practice and inspired students with her work. She also engaged the audience with simple experiments to motivate them in their work. By the end of the first day session, the students were divided into groups to work on a project revolving around Lebanese Food and storytelling. On the next day, students worked together and created artistic photography that will be displayed in RHU’s Annual Student Graphic Design Exhibition that will take place on July 11, 2019.
All attendees enjoyed the extensive learning process of setting up and taking inspirational artistic photographs; in addition they benefited from learning new skills that they can develop furthermore through practice.
