On Wednesday, October 9, 2019 and for the second year in a row, RHU Design Department hosted Ms. Ghada Sadek for a seminar on the journey of the late renowned caricature artist, her father Mr. Pierre Sadek. During the lecture, Ms. Sadek announced the launch of the fourth edition of “Trophée: La Plume de Pierre 2020” competition for editorial and animated caricatures taking place in January 2020 and invited RHU graphic design students to be part of it.
Ms. Sadek presented a documentary about Pierre Sadek’s life and artistic journey, as well as various samples of his controversial work that depicted the Lebanese social and political status. She also showcased the work of students and renowned Lebanese artists who participated in the previous competitions inspiring RHU faculty and students who were attending.
It is worth noting that two RHU graphic design students and an alumnus were selected to be among the finalists in the 3rd edition of the competition and their work was exhibited at ALBA, the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts.
