RHU’s Languages and Liberal Arts Unit holds a professional development workshop on the ethical integration of ChatGPT into English writing classes
The Languages and Liberal Arts Unit at Rafik Hariri University (RHU) College of Arts and Sciences organized a professional development workshop on October 16, 2026, for instructors in the Intensive English Language Program. Led by Dr. Najwa Saba ‘Ayon Fares, Professor and Academic Coordinator, the session explored practical and ethical approaches to integrating ChatGPT into writing instruction.
The workshop emphasized using AI to support, not replace, students’ writing and independent judgment. Discussions focused on fostering critical thinking, strengthening revision skills, and upholding academic integrity while helping students engage with AI tools responsibly and effectively.
The initiative reflects RHU’s commitment to supporting instructors’ professional development and promoting thoughtful, responsible integration of emerging technologies into teaching and learning.
