The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and the ASCE – RHU Student Chapter hosted a seminar about concrete degradation, repair and waterproofing procedures on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the MEA Theater. The seminar was delivered by Eng. Pierre Bou Assi, technical sales manager at Construction Material Company CMC. It was attended by civil engineering students and many professors from different engineering departments.
The speaker discussed the different types of concrete damages and their causes, and how they can be fixed with the appropriate products and techniques. Then he talked about the different methods and applications of waterproofing, while stressing the importance of appropriate waterproofing to avoid many further damages. The seminar was followed by an interesting Q&A session.
