On March 21st, 2023, the Investment Society in the College of Business Administration, in collaboration with the ASCE RHU Student Branch, hosted Dean Dr. Jamil Hammoud and Chairperson Dr. Mohammad Tarabay at 11 AM at the RHU main theatre to discuss The Future of the Lebanese Lira and the Fate of the Deposits.
In this seminar, Dr. Hammoud and Dr. Tarabay addressed how bad the financial crisis in Lebanon is. Dr. Hammoud started by explaining the causes of the financial crisis in Lebanon and differed the fate of the deposits. Dr. Tarabay then explained the reasons behind the deterioration of the Lebanese currency and the future of the exchange rate.
Hosts also addressed the overall financial and economic situation in Lebanon. He pointed to some earnest reforms that, if applied correctly, may be the beginning of the solution.
