With energy resources from earth slowly becoming less and less, it is high time we start saving on those resources by reverting to renewable energy, which is exactly what one of the students in RHU College of Engineering Ahmad Houlaihel did.

MS student, Ahmad Houlaihel, supervised by Professor Mohamad Taha in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at RHU, was able to use the concept of renewable energy to adjust an elliptical sports and exercising machine to produce electrical energy. His multipurpose project combines staying healthy with saving the environment and reducing the demand on electricity in a sustainable and clean way.

RHU is proud that his project was adopted by the Soghbine municipality in Bekaa. It was installed in the public park where visitors can exercise while generating electricity to light the lamps around the park, charge mobile phones, power banks and any other device.
