Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Kamal Chahade, Minister of Technology and Artificial Intelligence, and in the presence of the Grand Mufti of Zahle and the Bekaa, Dr. Sheikh Ali El-Ghazawi, the Scientific Research Center at Azhar Bekaa hosted a national conference on “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation: Their Impact on Sustainable Development.”
RHU was represented by Dr. Mahmoud Halablab, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohamad Taha, Dean of the College of Engineering, and Assistant Professor Dr. Roua Solh, who actively contributed to the discussions alongside leading academics, policymakers, and community figures.
The sessions addressed AI’s impact on education, the economy, and society, highlighting critical themes such as cybersecurity, governance, and the transition to a knowledge-based economy. The conference concluded with recommendations on educational reform, stronger partnerships, investment in digital infrastructure, and data sovereignty policies.
Through its engagement, RHU reaffirmed its leading role in innovation, research, and national collaboration to empower Lebanon’s youth and support sustainable development.
