Rafik Hariri University (RHU) welcomed more than 70 students from 25 high schools across Lebanon on October 31, 2026, for a training day organized as part of RHU’s National Schools Public Speaking Competition. The Languages and Liberal Arts Unit organized the initiative in collaboration with PEAC and Toastmasters.
Led by Toastmasters, the interactive training sessions equipped participants with essential public speaking skills, covering speech preparation, effective delivery, verbal and nonverbal communication, and techniques for building confidence when addressing an audience.
Students also explored the prepared and impromptu speech categories, gaining practical experience and developing the skills needed to participate confidently in the upcoming competition rounds.
The competition will continue with the qualification round on November 28, followed by the final on December 5, 2026.
Through this initiative, RHU reinforces its commitment to engaging with schools and empowering young people by nurturing their communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills. By giving students opportunities to develop and share their ideas, the University encourages the next generation to find their voices and become confident, effective communicators.
