The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) RHU Student Chapter received the ASCE2021 Letter of Honorable Mention, an exceptional recognition merited to only the top third of all student organizations. It also received the 2021Letter of Recognition for Community Service in appreciation of the chapter’s exemplary community service activities that benefit others outside of the ASCE Student Chapter. The ASCE-RHU faculty advisor, Professor Mirvat Abdallah, received the letter of the well-deserved honors on March 29, 2021.
The Committee on Student Members of the ASCE main sector does the selection for those two recognitions. They reflect the RHU Chapter’s favorable accomplishments and contribution to the ASCE Society and are an illustration of the dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work of the civil engineering student officers, members, and faculty advisor, despite the global pandemic and the difficulties faced by our beloved country Lebanon. They indicate that Lebanon in general and Rafik Hariri University, in particular, have the potential to be always in the lead.
