The IEEE RHU student branch and the ECE Department in the College of Engineering organized an "Introduction to 5G" workshop on Thursday, February 2, 2023, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at the RHU campus.
RHU hosted Dr. Hashem Lababidi, who covered an introduction to G's, detailing the evolution from the landlines to 2G, 3G, and now 5G. He also discussed the basic concept of New Radio Technology as a service-based architecture that distinguishes 5G from its predecessors.
Dr. Lababidi is a founding partner at 3E, a Global Partner for Huawei, Ericsson, and Nokia learning services. He has been a certified expert trainer for over 25 years in the field of ICT.
The workshop ended with a very informative Q&A session in which Dr. Lababidi highlighted the opportunities for a Computer Engineer with knowledge in Communications.
