From roots to growth: RHU President empowers students to lead their future

RHU kicked off the Fall 2025 semester with a powerful speech by RHU President Dr. Said Ladki, who greeted and motivated students with a message of growth, resilience, and opportunity at the Fall 2025 student meeting.

In his speech, the President reminded students that their RHU journey is like the growth of a bamboo tree: “At first, progress may seem invisible, but beneath the surface, strong roots are forming. In time, your growth will be fast and transformative.”

He emphasized that each student faces a “gate of entry”. Their choices today will shape their destination tomorrow. “The only thing between you and your success is your gate of entry. Face the fear. Choose the right gate. Lead your next chapter.”

The President also highlighted RHU’s ongoing progress and global recognition. Accredited programs (ABET, ACBSP) with strong industry connections, ranked 36th worldwide by WURI, integration of AI across all degree programs, state-of-the-art laboratories, and a new OCLC library system, along with a growing network of alumni excelling in academia, industry, and entrepreneurship worldwide.

Encouraging students to seize every opportunity, he emphasized the importance of competitions, internships, certifications, and lifelong learning: “Do not waste your time. Sharpen your vision, acquire new skills, and follow your dream with passion and determination.”

Closing on a note of empowerment, the President reassured students that RHU is fully committed to their success: “You are indubitably at the center of our work. We are here to empower you, to help you discover your path, and to ensure that when you leave RHU, you are ready to enter the right gate, prepared to make your mark on the world.”

The meeting also included a brief address from RHU Provost, Dr. Mahmoud Halablab, who offered words of encouragement and emphasized the University’s academic excellence, as well as from Ms. Sahar Hallak, Associate Director of Student Affairs, who stressed the importance of student engagement, community, and leadership opportunities at RHU.
