    RHU announces its 2023 Keynote Commencement Speaker

    The RHU 22nd Annual Commencement for the 2023 cohort will take place on Friday, May 26 at RHU’s picturesque university campus in Mechref, starting 6:00 p.m. RHU is pleased to announce Dr. Mohamad Alamuddin as the 2023 Keynote Commencement Speaker.

     

    Dr. Mohammad Naji Alamuddin studied medicine at the American University in Beirut, specializing in gynecology and obstetrics. He pursued his studies at Johns Hopkins University in the United States, where he obtained a master’s degree in health care administration.

     

    He began his professional career by joining the founding team of the Hariri Medical Center in Kfarfalus, where he practiced his specialty as an obstetrician-Gynecologist and was actively involved in the commissioning and management of the medical center.

     

    Dr. Alamuddin is an advisor to His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the start-up and management of the IMPACT program, as well as for the Middle East and Africa Council of Ophthalmology and the Prevention of Blindness Union, which funded thousands of cataract operations in the Middle East and Africa, established several eye banks in the region, and conducted studies on the causes, prevalence, and prevention of blindness.

     

    He chaired several boards for organizations, institutions, and private and public companies, including the Rafiq Hariri University Hospital in Beirut, owned by the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

     

    Dr. Mohammad Naji Alamuddin, in his capacity as a Director of International Operations of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, established, with the founding team, the Medical University in the Kingdom of Bahrain, owned and operated by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and the School of Medicine in Kuala-Lumpur in Malaysia in collaboration with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the US-based Johns Hopkins University.

     

    In addition to managing several hospital networks in the Middle East, Dr. Alamuddin started the first Health Maintenance Organization system in Lebanon to provide health care in high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered medical care.

     

    His current interests are focused on education, integrating skills and knowledge in university programs using advanced and modern technologies, and developing cost-effective, high-quality healthcare programs using advanced information technology and systems.
