RHU’s Chairperson of the Computer, Math, and Science Department in the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Lara Abou Orm, delivered an interactive educational workshop titled “AI Around Us: Exploring Artificial Intelligence in Our World” at Collège du Carmel Saint-Joseph, engaging 8th-grade students in an accessible introduction to artificial intelligence and its increasing role in daily life.

Designed to spark curiosity and critical thinking, the workshop combined clear explanations with hands-on activities that let students explore AI concepts through practical examples and age-appropriate AI tools. The session focused on the responsible and ethical use of technology, helping students better understand how AI applications influence learning, communication, and daily decisions.

The workshop was supported by RHU computer science students Ms. Reem Basho, Ms. Rawan Al Basha, Ms. Rand El Yaman, and Ms. Yasmeen El Hariri, whose involvement promoted peer-to-peer learning and strengthened the connection between university students and school learners. Their participation also demonstrated RHU’s commitment to experiential learning and student leadership beyond the classroom.
This initiative highlights RHU’s commitment to community engagement, STEM outreach, and technological literacy, while strengthening its mission to promote innovative education and inspire younger generations to explore emerging fields in science and technology.
