Believing that confident voices are essential for developing future leaders, the Languages and Liberal Arts Unit at the RHU College of Arts and Sciences hosted an inspiring public speaking training session for students from 24 public and private schools across Lebanon. Led by Toastmasters Lebanon in preparation for the National Schools Public Speaking Competition, the initiative demonstrates RHU’s commitment to youth empowerment, academic growth, and community involvement by equipping students with communication skills vital for leadership, civic responsibility, and personal development in today’s rapidly changing world.

The training was conducted by the RHU LLA Unit, led by Dr. Najwa Fares, in partnership with PEAC, represented by Mr. Imad Shamitili, and Toastmasters Lebanon, represented by Mr. Ezzeddine Danash. This collaboration was built on a shared belief in the transformative power of effective communication.

Held on Saturday, January 10, the four-hour session united participants to create a lively, inclusive learning environment fueled by curiosity, ambition, and determination. Participants practiced the art of public speaking through practical training in speech preparation, idea development, structure, and impactful delivery, with a strong focus on voice control, body language, and audience engagement.

Through interactive activities and practical exercises, the trainers maintained high energy and participation, while students demonstrated enthusiasm, confidence, and a growing readiness to step onto the national stage.

The journey continues January 24, when students will compete to qualify for the final round of the National Schools Public Speaking Competition, carrying forward the skills, confidence, and inspiration gained during the training at RHU.

Supported by RHU Dean Dr. Housam Salami, this initiative stands as a powerful example of how collaboration between academic institutions and community partners can unlock potential, amplify young voices, and inspire the leaders of tomorrow.
