RHU Event Club distributes food boxes to the underprivileged to help them through Ramadan

The newly launched RHU Event Club devoted its first event to feed the hungry, the poor, and the unprivileged during the holy month of Ramadan. “As a group of dedicated students, we acknowledge our ethical and moral responsibilities towards civic engagement. This initiative is built based on practicing gratitude, empowering communities, and fighting poverty towards a more hopeful tomorrow," RHU Event Club president said."

After 15 days of collecting donations, the club successfully managed to reach the target sum needed to prepare 60 food boxes for underprivileged families. The box-packing day took place on May 4 on RHU campus, whilst taking necessary COVID-19 precautions.

We surely faced many challenges during the whole process, but failure and dilemmas are inevitable when the goal is success and growth.”

The club members prepared a datasheet of needy families from several Lebanese regions including Sidon, Barja, Chehime, Beirut, Aramoun, Bchamoun, Jadra, Naameh, and Wadi El Zeina. They completed the distribution of the food boxes on the same day.
