• A group of students who share common interests has the right to petition the University Council to form a club and pursue related activities.
• Forming a club and pursuing related activities must conform to Lebanese Laws and MOHE’s rules and regulations.
• A group of students must first develop a complete plan of the club and related activities and submit it to the University Council for approval.
• All club activities must conform to the religious principles, cultural preferences, and moral standards of the Society.
• The types of clubs allowed shall be limited to: Athletics, cultural, social, scientific, and recreational.
• Club activities include: organizing cultural and sports competitions, publishing newsletters and pamphlets, wage awareness campaigns, and organizing seminars, lecture series, field trips, and research.
• A club must attain pre-approval of any proposed planned activity before it is executed.
• If a club carries out an activity without obtaining prior approval from the SAO, the club is automatically suspended and disciplinary actions against involved individuals will be taken.

To attain approval for a club at RHU, the following procedure should be followed:

• Fill out the Club Initiation Form provided below.
• Prepare a proposal to form a club. The Proposal shall include the following information:
  • The name of the Club to be established
  • The nature of the club’s activities
  • The club posts and responsibilities of each for which students elect officers to hold.
  • Signature of at least 10 students petitioning to form the club
  • The name and phone number of the contact person
  • The name of a Faculty Advisor for the club
• Submit the Proposal to the Student Affairs Office for approval
• If approved, the Student Affairs Office informs the designated contact person of the decision
• The students call for a meeting to elect the officers to assume the posts and start activities. Club members must hold elections in the presence of the Student Affairs Office and the Faculty Advisor to elect the officers for a one-year term.

Before the club engages in any activity, the following steps must be followed:  

• The Club officers submit to the Student Affairs Office a plan of the activities the club wishes to engage in throughout the academic year with the approval of the faculty advisor.
• The club president must submit a report to the Student Affairs Office at the end of every academic year of all the activities that were completed.
• Fill out a Club Activity Request and submit it to the SAO one week prior to the event/activity.
