RHU hosts “AI in Education Workshop” for high school educators

RHU brought AI into the spotlight on May 13 with an exciting “AI in Education” workshop for high school counselors and program coordinators. Organized by the Computer and Information Systems Department at the RHU College of Arts and Sciences, in collaboration with the RHU Admissions Office, the hands-on Workshop offered the participants practical insights into the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education and student support that can be readily implemented in their schools.

The workshop was led by Dr. Roaa Soloh, with the support of computer science students Ms. Mira Masri, Mr. Mahmoud Batish and Mr. Mohamed Al Khayyat. Participants were introduced to a range of AI tools and strategies aimed at enhancing student engagement, personalizing learning experiences, and streamlining the counseling process.

A total of 32 attendees from 24 high schools across Lebanon joined the event, eager to explore how AI can support student success in today’s evolving education landscape. The schools included: Ajial El Ghad College, Al Manhal School, Al Ofoq Al Jadeed School, College Universel, Doha High School, European Lebanese School - Aramoun, Global International School, Hariri High School II, Hariri High School III, Houssam Eddine Hariri, Ikhaa National School, Iman High School - Saida, International Learning Community, Lycee Abdel Kader, Lycee Makassed Khadija Al Kobra, Makassed Ali Ben Abi Taleb, Makassed Khaled Ben Al Walid College, Makassed Omar Ben El Khattab, Makassed Secondary School - Saida, National Evangelical Institute for Girls and Boys - Saida, Rafic Hariri High School, Ras Beirut International School, Shouf National College, Universal College Aley.

Reflecting on the event, Dr. Roaa Soloh said: "The enthusiasm and curiosity from the counselors and program coordinators were inspiring. Our goal was to demystify AI and provide tools they can immediately use to support students more effectively, and I believe we accomplished that.”

Stay tuned for more exciting learning opportunities in our upcoming workshops.
