RHU Communication and Alumni Relations Office, represented by Ms. Ghina N Saoudi, Public Relations Coordinator, participated in the official meeting for the renewal of the agreement with the IHG - InterContinental Hotels Group Academy held on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Phoenicia Hotel Beirut. Other universities including USJ, BAU, AUST, and CIT were also present at the meeting.

RHU signed the renewal that extends the cooperation with IHG Academy for two additional years ending in 2020 in the areas of coop and career services. Through this agreement RHU can secure internships and job opportunities for RHU students and alumni in Lebanon’s premier hotels.

Before the official signing of the agreement, an introduction about Phoenicia Hotel was delivered by Mr. Mohamed Azakir, Senior Human Resources Leader. He mentioned that internships represent a win-win situation for both IHG and the participating universities. More than one time, the RHU Coop Training Program was given as an excellent model to be pursued, especially as relates to the proper follow up on the work performance of students by RHU academic advisors, which contributes to hiring RHU students as permanent employees at Phoenicia Hotel. The last hire was mechanical engineering graduate, Hasan Rashid, who was present at the event. Mr. Azakir also referred to the workshop that Phoenicia Hotel team held at RHU for the CBA students and to the workshop that RHU CBA students attended at Phoenicia Hotel.

Mr. Azakir also pointed out that RHU is the only university that follows up on its students during the Co-op training period, and that an evaluation by the employer, the student, and the academic advisor is always filled towards the end of the training period to assist in evaluating the student.

Following the signing of the agreement, all university representatives were invited to a lunch at the hotel.
