On Thursday, February 29th, 2024, the Communication and Alumni Relations Office hosted KHOUBOURAT for a seminar on CV writing and interview tips. The event was organized as part of RHU’s Coop and Career Services for students and alumni, with around 72 attendees attending the seminar in the RHU main theatre.
The seminar lasted for one and a half hours and was given by Mr. Ahmad Dahrouj, KHOUBOURAT HR program Manager and senior HR/recruitment consultant, and Ms. Layal Al Masri, KHOUBOURAT HR program supervisor, internationally certified resume writer (ICRW), and certified trainer.
At the beginning of the seminar, Mr. Dahrouj expressed his gratitude to RHU for providing them with the opportunity to meet its students. He provided information about KHOUBOURAT services for both job seekers and employers.
Ms. Layal Al Masri then spoke about the difference between a CV and a resume, the reasons why CVs and resumes get filtered with ATS (Applicant Tracking System) Systems, and the types of resumes. She also explained what employers usually look for in a resume and what information to include and highlight. She highlighted some details that are often disregarded but can affect our resume.
Mr. Ahmad Dahrouj discussed reliable and practical ways to ace an interview, such as getting well-prepared, making better first impressions, and answering employer questions professionally. He also shared the types of questions an employer might ask and advised what and what not to say during an interview.
