RHU proved yet another time that it is a Hub for Innovators. RHU students were members on the two teams, “Khebez w Meleh” and Medicycle, that won first and second place in the 2020 MIT Lebanon Challenge.
RHU computer and communications engineering student, Mohamad Chaaban, was a member of the first place winner team “Khebez w Meleh” that aimed at empowering Lebanese smallholders and family farmers to generate revenue by hosting local and international culture-seekers. This is done through an easy to use web-platform that connects local and international tourists with rural Lebanese households.
Part of the Medicycle team, RHU students won second place in the health, waste, and electricity track of the 2020 MIT Lebanon Challenge. They pitched a non-profit Medicycle, which distributes medicine through their website and local charities few months before its expiry date to needy people.
Moreover, RHU mechatronics engineering students, Hussein Harb, Mohamad Kurjieh, Abdelrahim Mohamad, Nabil Miri, and Afif Swaidan, in the LEBO team participated in the agriculture track. They pitched a platform that connects local farmers with investors according to the lands specifications.
