In an interview with LBCI, Dr. Mahmoud Halablab discussed malaria, a parasitic disease transmitted through the bite of an infected female mosquito. He explained how this parasite spreads in the human body, its varying levels of severity, and the most common symptoms, including fever, chills, sweating, and serious complications in advanced cases.
Dr. Halablab noted that malaria remains most prevalent in warm regions, particularly in Africa, while also affecting parts of Asia and Latin America. He further emphasized the importance of prevention, early diagnosis, and adherence to treatment, especially among high-risk groups including children, pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immunity.
The interview also touched on concerns related to Hantavirus and the precautionary measures adopted to contain suspected cases.
