RHU Provost and Professor of Microbiology, Dr. Mahmoud Halablab, was recently featured in a televised interview on LBCI. During the segment, Dr. Halablab shed light on Helicobacter pylori, often referred to as the "silent enemy" among stomach bacteria.
He discussed how this germ causes inflammation and ulcers, tracing its discovery back to 1982 by Australian scientists—an achievement that later earned them the Nobel Prize in 2005. Dr. Halablab emphasized the importance of understanding the causes, symptoms, and preventive measures to help safeguard public health.
