Born from the merger of the College of Sciences and Information Systems (CSIS) with the College of Arts (CA), the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) stands as a dynamic academic hub that unites scientific rigor, technological advancement, and creative expression. The College includes the Computer, Math and Sciences (CMS) Department; the Design Department; and the Languages and Liberal Arts (LLA) Unit. Its majors in Computer Science and Graphic Design are crafted to develop forward-thinking graduates who can innovate, lead, and create meaningful impact. Each department is committed to providing students with the essential knowledge, refined skills, and hands-on experience needed to excel in their professional paths.
The Computer, Math, and Sciences (CMS) Department offers a comprehensive Computer Science program built on a strong foundation in computing and information technology. Students gain expertise in software engineering, programming, algorithm design, data structures, web development, information systems, and artificial intelligence (AI). Advanced topics such as machine learning, data science, deep learning, cybersecurity, and computational science further prepare them for the evolving demands of the digital era.
In addition to computing, students develop solid skills in mathematics including statistics, probability, data analysis, and mathematical modeling and deepen their scientific knowledge in physics, chemistry, biology, and environmental science through research-oriented and laboratory-based learning.
The Computer Science major opens doors to diverse career opportunities across industry, government, academia, media, and the banking sector. Graduates pursue roles such as software engineer, systems analyst, game developer, web designer, database administrator, network engineer, and IT consultant.
The Design Department offers a Graphic Design program that cultivates both creative and technical competencies for a wide range of careers in visual communication. The curriculum blends digital design, creative design, and branding, with strong emphasis on typography, illustration, animation, and motion graphics. Students also gain hands-on experience in web and multimedia design, user experience (UX) design, game design, virtual reality (VR), and 3D design.
Graphic Design graduates find opportunities in advertising agencies, design and packaging firms, editorial and publishing houses, branding agencies, interactive design firms, 3D animation studios, photography studios, and printing presses.
The Languages and Liberal Arts (LLA) Unit offers an English Language program in addition to delivering courses in humanities, social sciences, and communication, enriching students’ professional majors with a strong liberal-arts foundation. Through these courses, students learn to write effectively in academic and professional contexts, understand global and societal dynamics, develop critical thinking and communication skills, and engage as responsible citizens.
