RHU is proud to announce that four of its distinguished faculty members have recently represented the university at major international academic conferences, showcasing RHU’s growing impact in global research and innovation.
RHU Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Ms. Amal El Arid, virtually presented her research at the 5th International Conference on Electrical, Computer and Energy Technologies (ICECET’25) in France. Her paper, titled “Ensemble-Based Approach for Fraud Detection in Financial Transactions,” was developed in collaboration with RHU Associate Professor Dr. Ghalia Nassreddine and international researchers. The presentation sparked great interest among attendees and generated insightful academic dialogue. The study proposes a robust ensemble learning framework that significantly enhances the accuracy and reliability of fraud detection systems.

RHU Associate Professor in the Department of Financial Studies, Dr. Ghalia Nassreddine, delivered a second virtual presentation at the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence, and Communication Technology (IAICT 2025) in Indonesia. Her paper, “SHAP Explainability: An Ensemble Learning Approach for Student Performance Prediction,” is the result of an interdisciplinary collaboration with Ms. Loubna Saleh, Senior Lecturer and Acting Chairperson, Dr. Mohamad Majzoub, Assistant Professor in the Department of Management and Marketing Studies, and RHU Lecturer Ms. Amal El Arid. The research introduced a novel predictive model that not only forecasts student performance with high accuracy but also explains the key factors driving these outcomes, paving the way for more data-informed decisions in education.

Both presentations highlight RHU’s commitment to high-impact, interdisciplinary research that bridges technology, education, and finance, strengthening the university’s role as a catalyst for innovation and global academic exchange.
