RHU Languages and Liberal Arts Unit at the College of Arts and Sciences, in collaboration with the Student Affairs Office, hosted RHU assistant professor of English Literature, Dr. Naziha Shams Eddine, for an inspiring and thought-provoking seminar on adult bullying. Bringing together students from diverse majors, faculty, and staff the session created a safe and welcoming space for open dialogue, self-reflection, and collective learning, inviting attendees to explore a sensitive issue that impacts wellbeing in academic, professional, and everyday settings.

The seminar began with an interactive live poll that encouraged students to share their perspectives and personal experiences, grounding the discussion in real stories and lived realities. This opening exercise set an honest and engaging tone for the conversations that followed.

Dr. Shams Eddine highlighted the main types and subtle signs of adult bullying, illustrating each with real-life examples that demonstrated how such behaviors can quietly persist in workplaces, universities, and daily interactions. She also explored the psychological motives behind bullying and offered practical, empowering strategies to help students recognize, respond to, and cope with these situations in both personal and professional contexts.

She concluded the seminar with a powerful reminder that building kinder, safer, and more respectful communities begins with each of us. Through empathy, awareness, and purposeful action, every individual can contribute to creating environments where people feel valued, protected, and supported.
